Mr. Gilbert has a Bachelor's degree from National University in Computer Science.  He has more than 20 years of experience with software and emergency response solutions.  He has managed over 20 SAFER software releases - utilizing 4 operating systems in seven different languages - and has implemented more than 150 systems worldwide.  In addition, Mr. Gilbert serves his community through the Simi Sunrise Rotary Foundation.

 
 

Dr. Shahryar Khajehnajafi, Senior Vice President and Director of Research & Development

Dr. Shahryar Khajehnajafi has been Senior Vice President for SAFER Systems since May 2008. Dr. Khajehnajafi was previously vice president for SAFER Systems, joining the firm in 1991.  He holds a Masters of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Khajehnajafi’s vast modeling expertise includes exceptional proficiency in the areas of physical and mathematical modeling. At SAFER, he is responsible for the development of mathematical models and their corresponding computer-generated algorithms. Leveraging this advanced and complex technology allows SAFER software to accurately simulate the episodic release of chemicals into the air.

Dr. Khajehnajafi recently received a patent for his unique and extraordinary work in the area of chemical sensor interaction with SAFER chemical dispersion modeling software.

Mike Teague, Vice President, Global Sales
Mr. Mike Teague is Vice President, Global Sales.  He originally joined SAFER Systems as Regional Business Manager in March 2005, bringing with him over 25 years' experience working with high tech companies, both domestically and in the Pacific Rim (Japan and China).  Mr. Teague previously served as Division President/CEO of a Fortune 500 company and Corporate Vice President/Division President of a $50M publicly traded software and professional services company.

A native of Texas, Mr. Teague received his degree from the University of Houston.  He manages the SAFER sales and marketing efforts from his Houston office.

David Neuman, Operations & Client Services Manager
Mr. David Neuman joined SAFER as Operations and Client Service Manager in November 2007, bringing with him over 20 years’ experience serving in management roles within manufacturing, information technology and operations, working with several Fortune 500 companies. An ideal fit with SAFER, he is focused on customer satisfaction, productivity and continued profitability.

Mr. Neuman earned his Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Northridge, is a member of the Project Management Association, and is currently pursuing his MBA.  A native of Los Angeles, he serves as a Scoutmaster and is involved in other local charities.

Chris Cowles, Marketing Manager
Mr. Chris Cowles recently joined the SAFER team to manage the corporate marketing efforts. He brings to SAFER a wealth of experience in both Marketing and IT/IS from a variety of industries and product categories. He has managed marketing, product development and account development functions in both agency settings and client companies.

Mr. Cowles earned an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from California State University, Long Beach. He has served on the board of directors for a local chapter of the American Marketing Association and a Southern California credit union. In his spare time, he pursues a number of interests including international travel, enology, two-wheel motoring, the theatre and the arts.
